International Celebrity Role Models for Plastic Surgery
In an unofficial, anecdotal survey, an international plastic surgery organization sent out questionnaires to its over 20,000 members in 84 countries and compiled the results of celebrity influences on cosmetic surgery. They compiled the results from returned surveys to reveal the most popular categories for both male and female cosmetic surgery, and the icons patients used to describe their ideals in the area.
Among women, the top procedure areas were breast augmentation and lip augmentation, followed by buttock augmentation, nose surgery, and liposuction/tummy tuck. Women most common cited Pamela Anderson as the most desirable breast appearance, and Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen. Ironically, women also more often expressed negative preferences, saying they did not want to look like Pamela Anderson, Dolly Parton, or Victoria Beckham. For lip models, women commonly cited Angelina Jolie, of course, and Julia Roberts. Jennifer Lopez remains the worldwide favorite for buttock augmentation patients.
Among men, the top three requested procedures were abdominal contouring, nose, and eye surgeries. The model abs were Brad Pitt and close-second Matthew McConaughey. Brad Pitt led the nose surgery requests, followed by George Clooney. Men listed as having the most attractive eyes were George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Ben Affleck.
