The Operation
Breast augmentation involves the insertion of saline or silicone implants through an incision under the breast, around the areola (pigmented skin around nipple) surrounding the nipple. The placement of the breast implant is usually below the muscle. It is usually performed under general anesthesia in the office operating facility.

After Breast Augmentation Surgery
A bra is worn for two weeks after which it is removed and self manual massage is begun by the patient. Post-operative complications include capsular contracture, deflation, rippling, nipple sensory loss, loss of breast feeding, asymmetry, bleeding and infections. These will be thoroughly reviewed at consultation. Patients may return to non-strenuous work after a few days.
