Male Chin Augmentation

Chin recession can detract from the overall balance of the face. It is therefore a frequent concomitant procedure with a rhinoplasty and/or facelifting. Men often seek chin augmentation to enhance facial strength. There is no effect on bite or jaw function. Cheek implants are sought to give more definition to the middle third of the face.
The Chin Augmentation Procedure
Chin augmentation is usually performed by the placement of a chin implant via the mouth or by an incision underneath the chin under local anesthesia. Some perform this operation by moving the chin bone forward.
Post-Operative Course
Taping is used for several days and the patient is placed on liquid to soft diet for the first few days.
